TIBA Parking Systems Rapidly Deploys and Commissions 15 Lanes of Revenue Control Equipment at Memorial Hermann Property, LLC in 72 Hours

Memorial Hermann

Houston, TX (April 2, 2019) – TIBA Parking, in conjunction with Associated Time and Winpark, recently performed a smooth transition of 15 lanes of revenue control equipment at Memorial Hermann Health System in less than 72 hours.

Teams from Associated Time and TIBA Parking worked around the clock to reconfigure the lot lane by lane, tearing down old equipment, seven cashier booths, and activating TIBA’s world-class pay on foot machines, and entry, exit, and access only lane equipment. The installation began at 7:00 pm on Friday and all lanes were operational with gates down by 7:00 am that Monday, giving a total installation time of 72 hours.

“During the sales process it was made clear that Memorial Hermann and Winpark wanted to implement the latest technology and have it deployed quickly and accurately,” said Chris Archer, President of Associated Time.

“Both the TIBA and Associated Time teams did an excellent job quickly delivering TIBA’s world-class products for Memorial Hermann,” said John Whiteman, Executive Vice President of Sales for TIBA North & South America. “In addition to the 15 lanes of equipment, our teams were able to remove seven cashier booths, and later add license plate recognition along with valet solutions to provide a unique wholistic solution to meet the quick installation needs of this project.”

After two pay on foot machines and all lanes went live with revenue equipment, the license plate recognition and valet solutions were installed. By strategically moving the location of the two pay on foots, Memorial Hermann received a 20% increase in usage of POF’s over pay in lane traffic.

TIB@Pay, TIBA’s payment application for handling traditional bank card payments, also sped up individual transaction times to average 3-5 seconds allowing speedy and simple egress.

With the implementation of TIBA with License Plate Recognition technology and an install that took less than 72 hours, Associated Time met the specific needs of our valued partners,” added Archer. We look forward to a continued partnership with both Memorial Hermann as well as Winpark, both world-class organizations.”

Winpark responded to the installation by stating, “the installation was seamless from start to finish with the Associated Time and TIBA Parking Systems teams being overly accommodating. We are impressed with the quick delivery time and attention to detail.”

TIBA Parking Systems Increases Revenue and User Satisfaction at American Civil War Center with Entry Guard Systems

Richmond, VA (March 28, 2019) – Entry Guard Systems, in conjunction with TIBA Parking Systems, has expanded the revenue stream, as well as enhanced the visitor and general public parking experience at the American Civil War Museum located at Historic Tredegar in Richmond, Virginia.

“This significant improvement of the parking experience has allowed the museum staff to control the ratio of visitors, while also serving tourists and riverfront visitors,” says Frank Kollmansperger, President of Entry Guard Systems. “The gates not only remain functional during traditional business hours, but also during evenings and weekends, providing more parking options for the general public and increasing year-around revenue for the museum.”

With the relocation of the museum’s parking area and the upgrade to TIBA’s parking access and revenue control solutions (PARCS), the American Civil War Museum moved to a fully automated PARC system. This includes a shift to a credit card only solution which has the capability to collect revenue around the clock, and the implementation of easy validation through TIBA’s validation sticker system. The growth in readily available parking spaces and new ease of use for drivers has benefited museum visitors and beyond.

“TIBA’s goal is to increase end-user satisfaction while assisting our customers in growing their profitability. The American Civil War Museum is in a great location in Richmond to benefit from both objectives,” added John Whiteman, Executive Vice-President of Sales for TIBA Parking Systems. “The museum’s guests remain the top priority while other patrons can benefit from the ease of use and convenient location.”

Entry Guard Systems joined the TIBA Parking Systems Value Added Reseller network in 2016.

ParkBlue Successfully Launched in Ohio and Indiana by TIBA Parking Systems, Enabling a Frictionless Parking Experience

TIBA Parking Systems’ Bluetooth technology (BLE), ParkBlue, was successfully implemented in Ohio and Indiana for monthly transients at multiple sites.

Since July, hundreds of monthly users have utilized the first ParkBlue garages installed by Signature Control Systems, in partnership with TIBA Parking Systems and Hertz Investment Group.

Monthly parkers at these locations now have the ability to gain frictionless access to the garage using their branded mobile app. As the driver approaches the entry and exit devices, the gate detects the mobile device and allows the parker into the garage by using the phone as the credential. Drivers can also access a secondary QR code by manually tapping their ParkBlue application on their phone if needed.

This not only offers convenience to the parker who no longer has to roll down their window and present an access credential, but also offers convenience to the owner and operator who does not have to purchase and distribute expensive access credentials which are continuously lost and transferred amongst other users.

This Bluetooth solution has also increased the throughput of the facility as less time is required in the lane to manually authenticate the driver.

Operators can benefit from the ease of dialing-in the sensor range of the ParkBlue device through the software so as not to detect other users in adjacent lanes or in the same vehicle.

“TIBA is thrilled to bring frictionless parking and better ease of use to monthly drivers,” stated John Whiteman, TIBA Executive Vice President of Sales. “We look forward to expanding upon ParkBlue to help more drivers navigate to specific open spaces throughout different lots, assisting garage operators with managing overflow traffic, and increasing driver data through a robust business intelligence platform.”

“We are excited to bring TIBA’s Bluetooth enabled access app to North America via these first two installations,” stated John Bambey, Vice President at Signature Control Systems. “It’s great to be able to provide our customers and parkers with this level of industry leading technology and ease of access.”

Hertz Investment Group owns both garages and plans to expand ParkBlue to more locations.

“Hertz continuously strives to enhance our tenant and guest experience throughout our portfolio,” said Larry Isrow, Vice President at Hertz. “By introducing new parking technology such as ParkBlue, we have provided our tenants with easy, quick and efficient garage access. Since most people have their phone with them, our tenants enjoy the added convenience of not having to use a key card. Due to the successful implementation of ParkBlue at Hertz locations in Indianapolis and Cincinnati, we will be offering this amenity to other Hertz garages.”

TIBA Ticketless PARC Solution: Transport for NSW, Australia

THE CHALLENGE

The public transportation department of Sydney Australia, Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW), identified a need to free up parking spaces for commuters across their network of train and bus stations. To do this in a seamless manner that would not disrupt the customer experience, they decided to deliver a ticketless solution for entry and exit to their Park & Ride parking lots. To confirm that each parking customer has traveled on public transport, there was also a requirement to integrate with TfNSW’s smartcard ticket system – Opal card.

TfNSW, together with Wilson Parking, chose TIBA Parking Solutions to deliver this cutting-edge technology.

HOW IT WORKS

The Customer

To qualify for free Transport Park & Ride parking, the parking customer must:

• Be the holder of a valid Opal card
• Park in a dedicated Transport Park & Ride parking facility
• Tap on and tap off with their Opal card to complete a trip on public transport
• Use the same Opal card to tap out of the parking lot

The System

In order to deliver this customer experience, the TIBA ticketless system does the following:

• Parking location and space availability is displayed from an integrated LED sign to attract commuter parkers.
• On entry, TIBA’s license plate recognition (LPR) system reads each vehicle’s number plate to provide access, there is no need for the driver to stop and take a ticket. The process takes less than 2 seconds and is seamless to the driver.
• On exit, the LPR system matches the number plate to the vehicle’s entry time and calculates the applicable parking fee. If the customer has taken a valid trip on public transport using their Opal card, they simply tap their Opal card on the integrated reader and free exit is provided.
• Parking customers that have stayed longer than 20 minutes and have not used public transport simply pay the applicable fee with their credit card on the integrated readers at the exit. A contactless credit card reader is available to provide a “Tap & Go” experience for both commuter and non-commuter parking customers.
• Each TIBA Park & Ride location is managed with TIBA SPARK. This cloud-based management system provides remote control over single or multiple locations through a user-friendly graphical interface to monitor system status as well as remotely issuing tickets and/or opening barrier gates.

TRANSPORT PARK & RIDE LOCATIONS

TfNSW is running the Park & Ride solution as a trial at selected locations, that have been identified through surveying as key areas to increase commuter parking availability.

• Ashfield Park & Ride is located approximately 11km to the west of Sydney’s central business district (CBD) and provides over 230 dedicated commuter bays with 2 entry lanes and 2 exit lanes.
• Kogarah Park & Ride is located approximately 18km to the south of Sydney’s CBD and provides over 250 dedicated commuter bays with 1 entry lane and 1 exit lane.
• Seven Hills Park & Ride is located approximately 35km to the northwest of Sydney’s CBD and provides over 1,500 dedicated commuter bays across 2 sections comprising of 2 entry lanes and 4 exit lanes.

THE FUTURE OF TRANSPORT PARK & RIDE

TIBA’s world class technology in the pilot locations has brought a new ease of use for TfNSW parking customers. The management of each parking facility through TIBA’s SPARK system means that control of each location is fully scalable.

TfNSW manages nearly 600 million annual trips across their transport system. Their network of stations is serviced by nearly 400 parking stations.

Following a successful pilot program, the intention is to roll-out this ticketless solution to each of their networks ‘high-demand’ locations on a systematic basis.

TIBA’s SPARK Cloud Solution Manages Mixed Use Parking Facilities in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, MO (June 19, 2018) – Kansas City, Missouri selected TIBA Parking Systems’ cloud-based management and control platform, SPARK, to drive eight mixed-use facility garages. The facilities are installed in and around the KC Live and Convention Center districts and total 42 lanes.

The city launched the project in June of 2017 and with the help of Fisher Parking & Security, a TIBA Value Added Reseller, it has been successfully deployed for six months.

“The equipment is consistent and reliable. We monitor it closely via SPARK and we have consistently been able to process tickets with over a 99% read rate. The systems were built with automation in mind,” stated Matthew Muckenthaler, Towne Park Senior Account Manager. “Our revenues have increased dramatically because we can keep the gates down and equipment functional.”

SPARK, TIBA’s cloud hosted solution, allows operators and owners to manage multiple garages effectively. Operators can manage numerous garages as one larger super-entity or multiple single facilities, each with its own pricing and tariff structure. Control room operators can remotely monitor the status of each lane device and help drivers who require further assistance when using the parking facilities.

“Our goal is to provide and support efficient software and hardware solutions for our customers and end users. We build durable hardware and manage it with 4th generation software systems, such as SPARK, so each device can be adjusted to the needs of each individual lane,” said John Whiteman, Executive Vice-President of Sales at TIBA Parking Systems. “By remote monitoring and control, each device can be optimized separately for each facility, and still be controlled through one management application layer from the cloud.”

“With TIBA, our products are more reliable and operate faster than competing companies,” stated Jay O’Brien, President of Fisher Parking & Security. “Fisher has the longest tenure in the region with 33 years of experience. We have better and faster tech support and previous experience supporting a large scale multi-use facility.”

TIBA ParkBlue to Change Traditional Access Control and Parking

TIBA Parking Systems is changing the traditional way of access control and parking in the industry with the worldwide release of ParkBlue.

ParkBlue is a service application that enables cloud-based management of parking garages, frictionless physical access to parking garages on any PARCS system and a mobile application, as well as an SDK to facilitate reservation, navigation, and payment for parking. Some of ParkBlue’s most notable features are its front end Bluetooth, LPR capabilities, and back end business intelligence tools.

TIBA successfully field tested ParkBlue for five years before making it available worldwide to ensure quality control and efficiency. Before the official release, ParkBlue served over 100,000 active users and 250 parking locations in Israel.

Parking operators using ParkBlue can use a cloud-based service that enables them to convert transient clients to registered users. Once registered, drivers can reserve, navigate and pay for parking via a user-friendly, intuitive application. Entry and exit of the car park is done automatically, and the driver’s account is charged once he/she drives away.

Additionally, ParkBlue provides parking operators with the right information to create a marketing database for campaign management and revenue maximization. Cities, on the other hand, will benefit from a more clear overview of parking availability.

“TIBA explored mobile parking solutions as part of the Smart City ecosystem and how the Internet of Things can integrate into our products. The synergy between TIBA traditional parking solutions and IoT mobile technologies was absolutely clear,”said Moshe David, TIBA CEO. “As a leading ParkTech company with advanced software and hardware products, it is important for us to give our customers smart solutions that can positively impact drivers, parking operators, and smart cities.”
